7/25 - rabbit logic delirium
RLD started as a very personal cyberpunk dystopian visual novel that followed two women navigating a codependent relationship in a virtual world. i intended for it to be a cathartic project, one meant to purify me of recent evils, but i found that it wasn't worth the discomfort. i spent the next week agonizing over ideas for a new project after having already spent time working on the script, and finally i settled on a demon killing agency in a hell-earth adjacent world.
i had fun writing this project although i also agonized over potential endings. i have pages of notes in my notebook of ending ideas and concepts. i had coded a twine game with values in order to take me through the different endings, but in the end, that didn't really pan out...
if i could change anything about the project, it's that i would have had more time to develop it. i wanted more CGs and to actually design the demons myself instead of using placeholders. i would have also ideally had more help with certain aspects of the game, especially in terms of writing it, but the reception from my friends was encouraging. i felt i had a solid world and dynamic between the characters, though the themes of this one are pretty reminiscent of my previous project. i have plans in the future to develop RLD into its own fully fledged RPG with areas to explore, demons and agents to talk to, a combat and inventory system. i have to take on smaller projects first to familiarize myself with programming however, so it's on the backburner.
as it stands, i'm proud of it. i enjoyed creating it. i hope you enjoyed experiencing it.
